This sideways scrolling platform beat'em up is a conversion from the
Arcade game. Unfortunetly it's not a good conversion.
You control a man who must make his way past all the enemies on a level
and then face the end of level guardian. You start off by just being able
to punch and kick your enemies but you can collect powerup icons from some
killed enemies. Collecting these powerups is a must because if you collect
3 of them you will transform into a beast which has super powers. The
enemies really don't shoot at you, they kill you by running into you. Only
the guardians will shoot at you. Once you kill the guardian, you will then
go to the next level. There are about 5 levels in the game and each one
varies with different scenery and enemies. Each level gets progressively
harder so try to power up your man into a beast as soon as you can.
The graphics are slightly below average but the sound is nice. Your
main character doesn't seem to move real smoothly and the collision
detection seems to be a little off. It's still a playable game but it
could have been much better. The graphics should have been much better. I
have seen conversions on other systems that were much better then the
Amiga version. The game to me seemed to also get boring after a while.
There is just nothing special to this game.
In conclusion, I really can't recommend this game. It's not terrible
but it could have been done much better. I felt that the game gets boring
after a while and there's not enough variation to make you want to keep
playing. This conversion could have and should have been done better. It's
not a game that you will want to play over and over again.
