Skyway, The Scenario.
---------------------
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This happened purely by chance when one day the hallowed
creator decided to cook some fairy cakes while no one was home.
Unfortunately he was not an awfully good cook. and managed to
explode the cake in the oven resulting in a vast amount of
gunge being splattered about the kitchen. This is commonly
referred to as the "Big Bang" theory and it is strange that no
one has yet realised that the universe is in fact a fairy cake.
This startling but fairly obvious fact has created a
problem with the space time continuum, and the fact that no one
understands. or wishes to understand. exactly what the problem
is, means that the universe continues its nonsensical
existence.
There is a problem. a big problem. Things just seem to
happen without any reason. There are many unanswered questions.
like for instance What is this problem thing anyway ?".
Every now and then someone becomes obsessed with the actual
format and definition of the problem, and is consequently locked
up, interrogated¤ then bumped off by higher ranking citizens who
are afraid that who ever discovers the problem might be entitled
to a bigger wage package than them.
To overcome this situation a special board was set up to
find the actual definition and consequence of the problem.
To understand what was decided to be done about the problem
it is best to hear what was discussed at the meeting.
"What is this problem thing anyway?"
"Dunno."
"what is the solution?"
"Dunno either."
"Well I think we should set out t .... "
"Fairy-cakes."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Fairy-cakes."
"what do you mean fairy-cakes?"
"You know... Fairy-cakes."
"What about fairy-cakes?"
"Nell. I just thought of the universe and there it was."
"What was?"
"A fairy-cake."
"What is a fairy-cake doing in the universe?"
"I don't know. But it might be the solution"
"Solution to what."
"The problem."
"But we don't know what the problem is."
"Exactly!"
"Erm, am I missing something?"
"Look. If this cake business is the solution, we can use it to discover the problem."
"Fine."
"Oh. but we do have a slight problem."
"What, not another one"
"We know the universe has something to do with fairy-cakes."
"Yes..."
"We haven't got any fairy-cakes."
"No..." *
"We'll have to get some."
"Yes. good idea!"
"Okay. off you go."
"Where?"
"To the centre of the universe where I presume you can find the fairy-cakes."
"Uh okay.
So there you have it. This project was set up to find this
thing called the Big problem and it is your job to find the
fairy-cakes required to complete the solution from which the
definition of the problem can be obtained. Simple really.
Playing The Game.
-----------------
The system where the Fairy Cakes can be found consists of
a planet and its corresponding moon.
Before the mission commences you must choose whether you
wish to start on the moon or planet. Each of the two sectors
tplhnet or moon) is divided into several zones. In each zone
there are two probes which must be collected in quick succession
when the two have been collected you are presented with a simple
reaction test in which you must stop the indicator on the YES
option a given number of times (depending on how far into the
game you are). this will be easy to begin with but will become
progressively more difficult.
if you successfully complete th reaction test you are
given bonus score and allowed access to the next zone. else you
have to search for another two probes in the current zone.
When all the zones in the first sector have been completed
you will receive an even bigger bonus score, and then be
transported to the next sector.
When all zones have been completed (on both sectors) you
will hopefully find the fairy cake, where upon collection
you will be presented with the actual meaning of the "big
problem".
TRANSPORTERS: To use a transporter. stand in it and press the
USE key. Select "MATTER TRANSFER" on the menu and press FIRE.
ENERGY TRANSFER: To boost your energy level you can play a
small sub-game accessed through a transporter terminal. Stand in
a transporter and press the USE key. Select "ENERGY TRANSFER" on
the menu and press fire. Immediately the screen will show sex red
bars with a sliding blue section. The clock on the left of the
screen will be counting down rapidly. You must press fire to
stop the blue section on the white line at the centre of the red
bar before the clock reaches zero. After pressing fire the clock
will begin to count down again. as you must do the same for the
remaining five bars. The more blue sections you stop on the
canter white lines the greater amount of energy you can
collect. However, if you miss more sections than you hit you
will lose some energy depending on the extent of your defeat.
WEAPON COLLECTION: In various locations around the system
there can be found white snow man type creatures called
Bug-splatter beasts, they have in their possession various weapons
and ammunition which you can use.. To collect a weapon you must
enter the same location as a beast and press the USE key. A menu
will appear, from which you can select the weapon you require.
when you have taken all of a weapon from a beast, it is
displayed in dark blue in the menu.
The various weapons available are:
CENTRIFUGAL SHIELD: This renders you immune to all attacks for a short time.
SMART BOMB: This clever device will eliminate all moving alien life
in your location.
AUTO-CANNON:
A secondary auto-cannon can also be found in some locations,
and is collected by walking over it (see OBJECTS). The auto-cannon
will give you increased firepower for a short time.
OBJECTS: Various objects can be collected whilst playing the
game and can have the following effects:
1 Bonus of +250 points
2 Bonus of +100 points
3 Bonus of -100 points
4 Disables your Centrifugal shield
5 Auto-cannon weapon (see above)
All weapons appear as flashing discs or as a flashing gun, and
are collected by collision with the object.
Using the Smart bomb/auto-cannon:
To use a smart bomb select LEFT and USE simultaneously. Use of
your collected bombs will now be detonated
To use the auto-cannon select RIGHT and USE simultaneously.
Use of your collected auto-cannons will now be used and an
additional gun will then be attached to your space suit, and
will be in use until it runs out of energy.
The Controls.

The Hero can be controlled using the following default keys:
LEFT: O
RIGHT: P
JUMP: Q
DUCK: A
FIRE: SPACE
USE: M
Alternatively the Hero can be controlled with a joystick. The
USE key then becomes the default 'M'.
To abort the game press and hold down the keys 1,2,3,4,5 and 6
simultaneously.
